Almost two weeks ago, I shared these handmade Christmas ornaments on the For the Luv of Art Blog. I made paper Butterfly Ornaments, a Paper Flower that turned out to be the Tree Topper (I'm giving it away as a Christmas gift), and a Butterfly Garland. Don't they look fabulous on my feather tree?
Instructions:
For the paper flower, I cut 2" strips, and glued the ends together to form petals. Then I glued the petals together. Next, I cut two strips of patterned paper, used a punch on along one edge. Then folded the strips accordian-style. I glued them together to form a circle. I punch two more circles, and attached them over the tinsel-trim. To make smaller flowers, cut 1" strips instead.
The butterfly ornaments were traced from butterfly patterns. Some of them I edged in glitter. Some of them I attached two shapes in the center with pop-dots for a 3-D effect. You can get the butterfly patterns here.
