Fast and easy greeting card

This is also from the awesome September Kit - Click!...the really cool button was made by CarrieF's son!!!! You'll get some in your Kit too, they are worth the price of admission, I promise.

It's a glimmery brown card from the kit, plus a cool Hambly overlay, Studio Calico alphas, and matching ribbon threaded through the button to make an easy, simple card!!!!

I've also gathered some yummy inspiration relating to this super fun kit!

VISUAL AND WORD INSPIRATION

Manda’s travel camera kit

I lost my way, I forgot to call your name. The raw heart beat against the world, and the tears were
for my lost victory. But you are here. You have always been here. The world is all forgetting, and the heart is a rage of directions, but your name unifies the heart, and the world is lifted into its place. Blessed is the one who waits in the traveller’s heart for his return.
-Leonard Cohen

Martha Stewart Travel Collages

“The true traveler is he who goes on foot, and even then, he sits down a lot of the time.”
— Colette - Paris From My Window (1944)

“I may still not know what I want to be when I grow up, but I do know that someday I want to live in a house filled with my books and travel souvenirs. And the walls that aren’t covered in bookshelves will be covered with photos of my family and friends. When I leave the house I will be going to a job I love, and I’ll return to a person I love. So, that’s the dream I’m working on.”
— Amber Morely

“If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears.”
— Glenn Clark

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
— Robert Frost (1874 - 1963

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”
— St. Augustine

“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.”
— Paulo Coelho

dream vacation.

“During your travels it’s important to always keep one thing in mind. When one thing ends, something else begins.”
— Love Happens

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”
-Maya Angelou

“Travel does what good novelists also do to the life of everyday, placing it like a picture in a frame or a gem in its setting, so that the intrinsic qualities are made more clear. Travel does this with the very stuff that everyday life is made of, giving to it the sharp contour and meaning of art.”
–Freya Stark

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” –Mark Jenkins

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

“Who travels for love finds a thousand miles not longer than one.”
— Japanese Proverb

“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”
— Laozi

“The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes “sightseeing.”
— Daniel J Boorstin

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all. From now on you’ll be traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey.”
— Edward Renaldi (Mia’s father), The Princess Diaries

There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.

Photography shows a moment in time, altering life by holding it still.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever..it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
- Aaron Siskind

Often while traveling with a camera we arrive just as the sun slips over the horizon of a moment, too late to expose film, only time enough to expose our hearts.
-Minor White

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

 TtV Textures

This kit also inspired me to add fake TtV textures to some of my vacation photos. I thought I'd share these textures too.

TTV is the abbreviation for "through the viewfinder photography". It's a widespread idea to revive old photographic optics without needing film.

http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/TTV

TTV with the Ful-Vue box camera

Here are a few TtV textures that are free to download from Flickr.....

To use them with your photograph, open the photograph in Photoshop or Elements.
Then open the TtV texture.
Resize the TtV texture to fit your photograph. If you want to stretch it, feel free to do so.
Play with the layering style of your texture, usually I chose Multiply, about 90%.
Then I Save.

Here is another Tutorial at the CoffeeShop blog, slightly different, and you might do it differently too.

Ok, the textures (click on the link to download the original):
